Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy, MS


The expected Program Learning Outcomes for this program are:

  • Completers of this program will be able to:
    • Demonstrate professionalism and capability to function effectively in their chosen work environments (clinical, MFT and/or school) via their clinical experience placements.
    • Meet the educational requirements leading to the appropriate counseling licensure (licensed professional counselor and/or marriage and family therapist) at the state level for Arkansas as well as other states.
    • Articulate and demonstrate basic professional and ethical counseling knowledge and behavior with diverse populations and contextual issues.
    • Demonstrate foundational counseling skills including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and systemic intervention skills (as appropriate to setting).
    • Identify and apply systemic frameworks/models in their clinical practice with individuals, couples, and families.
