The expected Program Learning Outcomes for this major are:
- Students will demonstrate logical progression during clinical education; to include, but not be limited to, athletic training knowledge, skills, clinical decision making, professional behavior, and an increased amount of clinical responsibility.
- The AT Program will prepare students to integrate research into daily clinical practice through the acquisition, use, and practice of evidence-based medicine.This assimilation will culminate in a Senior Capstone Project, which will be presented during the student’s final semester in the Program.
- Students will describe the role and function of the following organizations: National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Board of Certification, Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, and state regulatory boards while also noting their influence on the athletic training profession.
